I never knew your touch could turn me into a babbling fool, wandering 'round, searching for something.

And I can't find the door and when I finally have it in my sight.

I can't find the key and now you're standing here in front of me.

Keep those hands away from me. I seem to lack the capacity to resist your charm and beguiling eyes.

Those lips will be the death of my heart.

And we both know we can't go sharing what we have and

Keep your hands off me while we're walking down the street.

And I can't find the key and now you're standing here in front of me.

Keep those hands away from me. I seem to lack the capacity to resist your charm and beguiling eyes.

Those lips will be the death of my heart.

And oh, baby, oh, baby, oh. If we could freeze this moment in time forever.

If I could stay right here in your arms and never face their eyes, all their lies, scripture they've memorized,

beliefs so strong they'd kill us long before admitting they're wrong.

  • 04:04 Story Lyrics The Protest Song

The secret to life can’t be found
on an infomercial in the middle of the night.

The secret to love won’t be awarded after jumping through every hoop just right.
If life was that simple, would there really be a point?

    If life was that easy,

we’d all be rolling a joint.

You gotta live every day like it could be your last.

You gotta love wholeheartedly regardless of your past.

You gotta laugh with all your might.
You gotta cry and bleed and stand up for what’s right.

If you come upon a fork in the middle of the road, whatcha gonna do?

Skate down the road more traveled upon or put on some hiking shoes?

If at some point today, you don’t break a sweat,
will you close your eyes tonight heavy with regret?

You gotta live every day like it could be your last.

You gotta love wholeheartedly regardless of your past.

You gotta laugh with all your might.
You gotta cry and bleed and stand up for what’s right.

Broke my heart when I learned the truth behind my work with

    the non-profit prostitutes.
Now I can’t afford no health insurance.

    Pharmaceuticals driving me bankrupt.

    Wasting our energy protesting marriage.

Telling me abortion isn’t my choice.
We’re still debating the use of marijuana.

    Locking up some hard-working farmers.
Spent my twenties earning myself an $87,000 degree.

    You’ve got to live.

  • 03:42 Story Lyrics Shoes to Fill

Pick your head up. Don't you drag your feet as you're walking down the street don't be afraid to look them in the eyes.

Don't you worry what they're going to say, oh you've got plenty of time for judgment when you die.

No, don't let them bother you. You've got better things to do.

You've got shoes to fill, girl. Bigger than the moon, girl. All you have is right now.

You've got shoes to fill, girl. Bigger than the moon, girl. Only you know how.

Your daddy says, "Why you gotta set your sights so high?"

Your mama says, "Girl you better learn how to fly."

Cuz you've got shoes to fill.

You've got shoes to fill, girl. Bigger than the moon, girl. All you have is right now.

You've got shoes to fill, girl. Bigger than the moon, girl. Only you know how.
