From the recording Never Giving Up

My Land is originally from our 2018 album, Resolved to the Mutual Satisfaction of Both Parties. This song was completed on February 2, 2017, that infamous day when Trump allegedly hung up on the prime minister of Australia and kept saying, "Don't worry about it. Don't worry about it..." I took this song to the band with a sense of urgency because I was afraid the content would lose it's relevancy. Unfortunately, I feel like the content is more relevant than ever.
My Land was written by Angie Kopshy and brought to life through experimentation and rehearsals in the amazing musical basement known as Johnson Underground. With Shirley Johnson on drums, Dan Johnson on guitar, Kate Austin on vocals and Kate Harris on bass and vocals, this song became what it is today.
My Land was recorded, mixed and mastered in Portland, Oregon by Matt Greco, owner of The Rye Room. Guest artists during this recording session were Christopher Friesen on bass and Randy Herbert on drums. Stoneface Honey artists include Dan Johnson on guitar, Kate Austin on vocals and Angie Kopshy on vocals and keyboard.

Lyrics

Watch where you're walking, you might step on a crack and then we'll have to break your sweet mama's back. Oh and watch how you're talking, you might say something that you'll later regret when we got you out back. And we ask for your papers and your card. Then we revoke them and throw you out to the yard.
Welcome to the land of the free and the brave. We can't help you any longer, I'm afraid. We don't give a damn where you go. Just as long as you ain't here no more. This is my land created just for me; the white and the wealthy man. This is my land created just for me, me, me. It's the rise of the white and the wealthy man.
Burn all your textbooks we don't need them anymore. I will tell you what you need to know. Oh and spy on your neighbors, we can't trust them anymore. You just never. You never know. If you're pretty enough, I might let you pass. Just as long as you let me tap that sweet ass.
And I will save my friends, build my legacy. I will rape the land 'cuz it belongs to me. And don't you, don't you ever worry. But don't you ever step out of line. Never mind the man behind the curtains. Move along, move along, move along, move along, move along.

This land is your land. This land is my land. From California to the New York islands. From the Redwood Forest to the Gulf Stream waters. This land was made for you and me.
